Sedation Dentistry

Anti-Anxiety dentistry refers to the use of a sedative during dental tratment. Our doctors are specially trained to give you a pill before your appointment that will relax you and make you feel completely comfortable. This program is great for patients with dental fear or for patients who find it difficult to sit still. These patients can accomplish all their dental care in as little as one appointment. Procedures like fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, extractions, cosmetic procedures and periodontal treatments can all be achieved in our anti-anxiety program.

Sedation is endorsed by the American Dental Association and is an effective way to make many patients comfortable during their dental visit. Before using a sedative or anesthetic, it is important to tell your dentist about any medications or medical treatments you are receiving. Before administering any sedative or anesthetic, your dentist will talk to you about the process of sedation and pre- and post-sedation instructions.

Inhalation Conscious Sedation, Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Sedation also known as "laughing gas". This is the most frequently used sedation method used in dentistry. All bodily functions remain normal and the person is able to breathe on their own. The patient will often fall asleep and experience some degree of amnesia about what happened during their dental appointment. Inhalation Sedation has been used by dentists for many years.
